That God loves all people is profound because it shows us that love is not founded on the qualities of the one who is loved but on the disposition of the one loving.

As followers of Jesus we have learned that God loves us because of who God is. Therefore, in order to be loved, we need not pretend to be someone or something we are not.

That is important because it shows that our community is based not on perfection or agreement but on the love of God for all.

And because we have learned that it is God’s nature to love, we will stay close to Jesus, so that we may love as God loves, and welcome as God has welcomed us.
